The best designer tote bags for fashionable mothers exude MILF-ness (yes, I said it) and have room for all of the trappings of motherhood: the extra makeup we didn’t have time to throw on before we left the house, sippy cups, blankets, snacks, and diapers galore. While what is inside of our designer tote bags might not always be glamorous, the fashionable mom values a tote bag that is functional and fashionable for her everyday life.

When I was pregnant, I scoured the internet for hours and hours looking for the perfect designer tote bag that would not only double as a diaper bag but one that would also be a good piece to add to my bag collection for other things such as travel, work, and play. During my research, I found that my favorite handbag designers had amazing contenders for this new mama’s search.

From the fashionable mom’s favorite designers such as Chloe, Saint Laurent, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Christian Dior – these totes are functional for new moms and experienced moms alike.

Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM: This tote bag is ridiculously durable for a bag made of mostly canvas – not to mention, super easy to wipe off when the kids get a hold of it or we happen to spill wine. When this bag first came out over 10 years ago, I would visit it often at the Louis Vuitton store. During one of my visits, the Louis Vuitton employee on the sales floor told me that this bag could withstand up to 200 lbs. That is a lofty claim, so I thought, but during my time with my Louis Vuitton Neverfull (this is my second one so you could say I am a fan!) – it has withstood lots of weight. The bag always seems fine, it is my own shoulder I am worried about, LOL.

This bag holds up so well, it is one I would recommend getting secondhand if you are interested in the style and in saving a couple hundred dollars on the price tag.

Remember to keep in mind while you are online shopping, the GM is the biggest style of the Louis Vuitton Neverfull! If you get a relatively newer Neverfull from the more recent years, it also comes with a super cute pouch that you can use on it’s own. It’s like two bags in one!

Christian Dior Book Tote: Not only is the Christian Dior Book Tote a fashion statement but it is also practical. The padded handles make it perfect for fashionable moms on the go. Our bags can get uber heavy with all of the motherhood essentials and these padded handles will help when that is the case. Wear this bag by hand or on your shoulder, mama!

Gucci Medium Matelasse Tote: This Gucci tote might be the designer tote bag of my dreams. The precise structure paired with the diagonal matelasśe effect gives me the Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen vibes I am subconsciously always searching for while shopping.

Saint Laurent Sac Du Jour: Sac Du Jour means “day bag” and if that isn’t the perfect description for fashionable mom’s on-the-go, I don’t know what it is. This bag has top handles that can be worn over your hand and a cross body strap that allows you to wear this bag on your shoulder so your hands are free. It comes in several different sizes and I would recommend the large for all of the motherhood essentials to fit in your sac du jour bag. I have the smaller one (pictured above) and wish I had the bigger size for this very reason!
