Fall is here for some of us, and just around the corner for others. Or like, happening every other day if you live in the great state of Virginia! It’s the time of year where you have to check the weather each morning, no matter what, before you get dressed! Yesterday, I wore a long sleeve maxi dress, and today I’m wearing loose culottes and a t-shirt. You just never know what you’re gonna get in September in VA!

ANYWHO!! As we are dancing into fall, we thought we would let you guys know what our favorite, go-to, can’t live without wardrobe staples are as we make the season transition! It’s time to take stock of what you have in your closet and notice any pieces that might be missing. If you’re like us, you often do an overhaul of your clothes – consigning, posting on Poshmark, or honestly just misplacing pieces from season to season. So, if you find yourself missing some closet staples – fear not, we’ve got you covered!

~ Denim ~

Denim for fall is obviously a no-brainer! We have quite the collection of denim, but to be honest, we both have our favorite pairs that we keep going back to day after day. We both love a good pair of distressed mom jeans, and I have a trusty pair of go-to skinny black denim as well. You’ve probably already seen both of these looks on the blog, but as I always say, if you see it often enough on here, it has to be geniune! SO, whether you like a good pair of skinnies or you prefer a looser fitting jean, here are a couple pairs we have got our eyes on right now.

~ Boots & Booties ~

You already know how we feel about boots and booties!! We made it known that we think you can wear our favorite style year-round, but they are absolutely necessary in the fall. A good pair of black booties is a key piece in our shoe collection, and we like to have a few other pairs, like over-the-knee and combat-style, to elevate our looks when we are looking to be a little EXTRA / edgy.

~ Go-To Sweater ~

OHHH SWEATER WEATHER! How we love thee! I love being on the beach in the summer & skiing in the winter time. But, I also love the times of the year when the weather is in the 60s, and you can throw on a sweater and walk out the door. From over-sized pullovers, to long line dusters, we don’t discriminate when it comes to sweater styles. One thing that is absolutely necessary though, is that it not be ITCHY. There is nothing worse than an itchy sweater. Who can tolerate that? Not us! Anywho, here are some great sweater picks for fall. Including Catherine’s new favorite from Free People.
