Last week, over John’s spring break, I had the *brilliant* idea to take him down to Athens, to show him around downtown and UGA. I only went to Georgia for my first year of college, but my besties there can attest to the fact that I visited atleast 3 times a year during our college years. The drive from Charlottesville was always a doozie, but totally worth it.  I’ve been telling John this for years, tried to make plans with our pals to meet up in Athens for a game, but alas, it just never happened.  So when we had the chance to choose a destination this April, I asked my friends if the Graduate if we could check out their property there. 

Nestled at the back of downtown, next to the Foundry, this hotel is definitely the place to stay!  Affordable rates, spa on site and access to the Foundry’s music venue are just a few of the reasons to stay here during your trip to the Classic City! If we were visiting during the summer, I’d definitely spend some time by the pool as well.  I’ll be sharing more about our adventures around town later and on The Crystal Press, but I will say that Graduate Athens was a great choice for us this go ’round.  We got a healthy walk to downtown when we ventured out each day, while also being able to come back and relax and take some time to get some massages at the Spa.

Spent some QT in the library (with adjoining coffee shop) doing a little work and reading during our downtime.  At all hours you can find students working here which I find oddly comforting.

John and I got massages on Thursday, and for my out-of-shape self, it was much needed, as all of the walking had done a number on my body (LOL!) The Spa receptionist Bridget was southern-style friendly and gave us some great recommendations for some new spots to hit (since it had been a few years since we’d been back).  Our massages by Yoeshi and Jennie were top notch and Yoeshi did some reflexology magic on me to help my aching feet.  All around, excellent experience!

Seriously guys, this Free People jumpsuit is SO comfy and under $100!
