Unconventional Wedding Attire

Most of the weddings I have attended in recent years happened to be ones where I was a bridesmaid. This meant that my get-up was chosen for me, or in collaboration with the bride, and I did not have to worry about that decision in the least!  When my cousin Caitlin’s wedding rolled around last week, however, I was excited to try something new.  I found these amazing pants at Zara while Catherine and I were in New York and knew instantly that I had to do something really cool with them.  (more…)

Sup Spring?

Nothing like saying ‘what’s up spring?’ with a trusty all black outfit. I mean, really, what else did you expect? As much as I keep trying to branch out with new pieces (and I really am trying), I always find myself coming back to black basics. It’s just so easy to mix and match my favorite black pieces to create new looks, no matter the season. Yes, I feel very redundant at this point, but alas, that’s about all I’ve got for you guys on this March Monday.  (more…)

Noir + Blanc

Do you guys have anything in life that you seriously regret? I don’t mean, like, oops. I mean, something you can’t go back and change?  (more…)

Cathclaire Classic

Yes, I am a serial outfit repeater but I do it in the name of love.

Pop of Color

For my birthday this year (the day after Christmas), John got me a bike! Its a turquoise cruiser and it is absolutely perfect for me.  One of my favorite things growing up was riding bikes at the beach during our family vacations and around the neighborhood where I grew up. This past summer when we were at the beach John and I had such fun biking to and from the beach and all around Seaside and Watercolor and I can’t remember if I actually told him it would be fun to do it at home or if he could just tell.  Either way, Johnny for the win. Elevated Denim

My fiancè prefers that I wear white denim over my constant “the darker the denim the better” approach to my daily attire.

When I scored these black and white striped beauts from ASOS, I immediately recognized them as a wearable compromise in skinny jean form. Cue the Maroon 5 “She Will Be Loved” earworm – It’s not always rainbows and butterflies, It’s compromise that moves us along. Am I the only one who can’t say the word compromise without thinking of this song?

Something Old, Something New

With Catherine and my sister getting married in the next few months, I guess you could say I’ve always got wedding on ze brain.  I usually have so much trouble coming up with titles for my post but as soon as I put on this outfit, I was immediately inspired.  The only thing this look is missing is the Something Borrowed but that’s only because John took these photos and not Catherine.  If it had been Cath, I would definitely have added something from her closet / jewelry collection / lip color choices to round out the look.  (more…)

Twinning in Tart

As a fashion blogging duo, Rebecca and I don’t take nearly enough advantage of the fact that twinning is trending. This Tart faux fur proves to be the perfect opportunity for us to step up our twinning game and we had a helluva a time using this as an excuse to wear the same thing. Rebecca wore this coat to the Cava preview dinner at Whisk on Monday and she got endless compliments. Anytime either one of us is wearing this coat, not only does it keep us warm but it attracts good vibes like no other!

Work in Progress

I’m sitting here, staring at my screen, waiting for inspiration to strike me, and I’m thinking ‘well, I’ll just write about how to get inspired to write a blog post.’ Very meta huh? Is that what meta is? I’ve never really understood the whole meta thing.  Butttt I digress. In all honesty, I don’t think that I could tell you anything helpful about how to get inspired to write a blog post.  I am always telling Catherine that she is so good at writing mindful, inspired posts and I’m always over here like HEY HOW COOL IS THIS DRESS?  (more…)

Dress Me in Possibility

With the Drake and JLo’s rumored romance on my mind, I have found myself listening to a lot of throwback music from the good ole days when I had an intense obsession with Jennifer Lopez. While I can’t tell you how old I was, I can tell you this JLo obsession was right after my infatuation with Taylor Hanson and right before my Newlyweds-is-the-only-show-I-watch-and-I-want-to-be-Jessica-Simpson phase.

Obsession can be a beautiful thing and I was reminded of this when I felt waves of pure bliss while rediscovering “Feelin’ So Good” from Jennifer Lopez’s first album On The 6th. Isn’t it the best when you get hit with this nostalgic feeling?
