Wishlist Wednesday: Festival Season Fashion Picks

Who is getting excited for festival season and festival fashion? Our inner bohemian loves any excuse to hippie-out (aka dress like a hippie) so this festival fashion wish list is a long time coming! From airy tops to exaggerated fringe, festival fashion pieces are as fun to wear as they are to admire. DSC_0212By the time you guys are reading this, I’ll be back in Guatemala, on a coffee farm or in a cooking class or perhaps helping out some children on Lake Atitlan. However, as I’m writing this I’m currently procrastinating from packing – a struggle Cath and I both know all too well. I’m staring at an empty suitcase with a 5am wake-up call and know I HAVE to get started. Big Love

Since Day One, I have been referring to this outfit as “The Big Love Look.” I don’t know if its the length of the dress, the neck tie or the turtleneck, but something just made me feel like I was channeling Chloe Sevigny. (I love Chloe Sevigny). The even funnier little tidbit about that is that every time I referred to the outfit as such, Cath was confused. She was not an avid Big Love viewer, as I was, and therefore it took her a few seconds each time to remember what I was talking about. Maybe this was just funny to us, but there you have it.

On another note, I think this outfit is the perfect example of Spring Layering.  I think we may have finally reached the end of tights season,so that aside, everyone needs the perfect flowy midi and light sweater combo during these not-yet-hot months! This Zara tunic has become a staple in my wardrobe this month and I have a feeling it will stay that way through the Summer. I’ve linked my pieces at the bottom as well as other similar alternatives for a perfectly layered look.

Spotlight on: Denim

Denim, Denim, Denim! It’s everywhere right now and spring is the perfect season for it. And I don’t just mean jeans. Of course, we love a good pair of jeans (Levis 501s ATM) but Denim is so much more than jeans. These pieces have caught our eye today and we just had to share! We are seriously lusting after this awesome Denim Dress.

Four Seasons Hotel New York

If our Snapchat during NYFW wasn’t evidence enough, let me remind you that one of our favorite parts about New York Fashion Week (yes we are still talking about it) was our stay at the Four Season Hotel. You know when you just get a “feeling” about a place? Well our feeling about the Four Seasons happened before we stepped foot out of our arriving cab. Before we knew we were there, the most elegant man opened our taxi door and said “Welcome to the Four Seasons New York, ladies” and the feeling hit us like that of the best kind of love affair.

Beware when it comes to asking Rebecca or I about our love affair with the Four Seasons because we will just go on and on and on. For example, we are convinced the staff at the Four Seasons in New York possess super powers. These fine people have the art of anticipation down to a t. They knew what we wanted before we even knew what we wanted. You can imagine how this talent made room service a dream. On the same note, we left flowers out of water in our room absentmindedly and returned to our room with the flowers in a vase! And the walk in closets? Amazing. Our clothes have never been happier and that is a fact.

Among the craziness and exhaustion of NYFW, we found ourselves looking forward to getting back to this blissful hotel for mental and physical relaxation (and we are looking forward to getting back to this hotel soon!) Levi’s 501s + Zappos

reb zappos 5On Monday, Catherine showed off her new Zappos x Shopstyle pieces and the versatility of an awesome LNA Maxi and now its my turn! Along the same lines, I chose pieces that I knew I would wear over and over again and can become staples in to my day-to-day outfit rotation.  Every girl needs that perfect pair of boyfriend jeans to throw on to go to the movies, or out for a day of festival hopping and I found these Levi’s 501 Tapered pair to be the perfect fit for me!
