Richmond friends, peeps who may be visiting Richmond soon, or those of you who just want to stay “in the know” – we’re going to be updating you periodically on the fun things that are opening, events that are happening and a hodge podge of other things you should know about!

Buffalo Exchange: Shopping just got more exciting Richmonders! Buffalo Exchange is coming to Carytown Sept. 1! Buffalo Exchange is a fashion resale retailer with around 50 stores that is privately owned and family operated. Buffalo Exchange has locations all over the US and it is so exciting that they are coming to RVA. Looking for a place to take some clothes that are crowding your closet? This is your place!
Aloi: We had the chance to check out Aloi when it opened and it was a great experience! Brandon Pearson’s solo venture is yummy and aesthetically pleasing to say the least. The head chef is Ben Watters, formerly at Brenner Pass and Lemaire, and you will find a seasonly focused menu with local ingredients. Aloi is located in Scotts Addition.

American Idol Tryouts Sept 3: Do you have what it takes to make it on the stage of American Idol? Head to Main Street Station on Monday, Sept 3. to show American Idol what you’ve got!
Modern Wedding Market: The first pop-up event for Modern Wedding Market may have just passed, but keep your eye on them because they will announce their official event dates soon! This local Richmond market is focused on helping anyone who is engaged plan their wedding day, their way. Since we have both been amidst our own wedding chaos, this sounds like music to our ears. Some of the vendors are DJ Ant Boogie, Badass Booth, and Riot + Revel.

Richmond Ballet 35th Anniversary Celebration: This year Richmond Ballet is celebrating their 35th Anniversary and this season’s performances are not to be missed! Kicking off the season will be the Ballet’s 35th Anniversary Celebration, which will feature highlights from the company’s past 34 years as well as George Balanchine’s “Who Cares” and Jerome Robbins’ “Circus Polka” will open the performance. The season will also include Three Studio Series, the beloved Nutcracker and one of Reb’s personal favorites, Cinderella! Stay tuned for more fun with Richmond Ballet & The Crystal Press <3

PS. I reallyyyy wanted to post these photos on here, even though the outfit was sold out, because they capture two of my favorite places at the Homestead. We had our pre-reception cocktail party in the marble hall and it was perfection!! The black and white floor nook is where John and his groomsmen stood before the ceremony, watching all of our guests arrive. You know I can’t miss out on a sappy moment to talk about our wedding day, so there we have it folks!

It’s Taco Tuesday, y’all!!! And who doesn’t like tacos? If you don’t, we don’t trust you. (JK, kinda) Early on in our friendship, you could find us weekly at Sidewalk on Taco Tuesday, drinking Coronas. These days, you can find Catherine and I snacking on chips and salsa pretty much any day of the week and when we are feeling truly domestic, you can find us throwing a taco dinner fiesta!! And, no, its not usually a culinary masterpiece. Sometimes the good old boxed Taco kit is all you need. Recently, thanks to
PS. Here’s Cath’s fun pom pom headband! Only $13!
