Reb’s Favorites: SKIMS Fits Everybody Collection

A real and honest review of the SKIMS Fits Everybody Collection – especially for postpartum bodies.  skims fits everybody

ICYMI: I reviewed six pieces from the SKIMS Cotton Collection during my pregnancy. This was my first experience with SKIMS and it truly lived up to my expectations. I was excited to try some new pieces after Olive was born to get  better idea how they would fit into my day to day and decided to get underwear and bras from the Fits Everybody Collection this time round.

YET AGAIN, they lived up to the hype.  The website boasts that this collection is buttery soft and each piece stretches up to twice their size.  When they say buttery soft, they mean buttery soft.  It almost feels like you aren’t wearing anything.  For me, in my postpartum body, I definitely needed the bras and underwear to be extra stretchy since my size is fluctuating so this collection was perfect.

POSTPARTUM RECOVERY: WHAT I USED

rebecca piersol postpartum recover

So, I polled my instagram followers for things that they actually used during postpartum recovery and of course everyone had very different suggestions, but also lots of similar items, too.  My Amazon Storefront has a list with the things that you guys suggested and I wanted to do a more extensive post here with the things that I actually used.  AGAIN, like everything with pregnancy and postpartum, everyone is different! Obviously c-section recovery is very different than recovery from a vaginal birth and every birth is unique. SO, here is what worked for me.

ALWAYS DISCREET “Underwear” – Let’s call it like it is: diapers. I switched off between these and pads, just depending on how I felt that day. Honestly, changing the pads gets so annoying but the diapers aren’t the most comfortable thing in the world either. Its lose/lose and super uncomfy and annoying but such is the price we pay for bringing adorable children into the world 🙂

AMAZON UNDERWEAR & KINDRED BRAVELY UNDERWEAR – Both of these are big enough to accommodate the intense pads required postpartum.  I am still wearing these at eight weeks postpartum because they are jump simply super comfy and have great coverage.  Aside from SKIMS, I think these will be in rotation…. forever………

SKIMS COTTON COLLECTION

SKIMS SETS

I have honestly been wondering for years if SKIMS are worth the hype.  Everything the Kardashians do seems to turn to gold and make gazillions. While I might not be a huge fan of the fam or *keep up with the kardashians* on TV, I gotta admit, they are doing something right to have such a mega empire.

SO, I tried out 6 pieces from their cotton collection, because I figured those would be most comfortable to me right now in my 8 months pregnant body. Hardly anything is comfortable these days so trust me when I say, this was a true test.

Reb’s Street Style Maternity Photos

Let’s start this one out by saying, going into this shoot I was kicking myself for not scheduling our maternity photos sooner.  I was 35 weeks when we took these, and I really wish I had scheduled them around 30 weeks. At 30 weeks I felt better and, in my opinion, looked better. Cute bump and not all the swelling.  Luckily for me, Johnny assured me that I looked great so I decided to just embrace the hot, sweaty, pregnant bod for the photos.

SO, LET’S TALK OUTFITS.

ACTUALLY… FIRST: DECIDE ON LOCATION + VIBE.

Naturally, I had a hard time deciding on a location and a vibe, so I decided to do more than one location and not two but three different vibes.  We went with Romantic/Ethereal, Street Style & Sleek/Sexy.   I started out with one big long blog post for all three looks but it was going to be INTENSE so I decided to create three different posts. Here you’ll find my tips for a sleek and sexy shoot. For the others, click through below to find a full post on the vibe you are looking for.

Reb’s Peach & Terracotta Baby Girl Nursery

rebecca piersol baby girl nursery

We only have one additional room in our house aside from our bedroom (and the open living spaces), so the only real option was to turn the guest room into the nursery. (see the *before* here). I always thought I would be a neutral nursery kind of gal. Whether it was a boy or a girl, I envisioned something gender neutral with light pops of color *maybe.* However, once I became a *girl mom* all of a sudden I wanted girly things. So, anyway, without further introduction: here are the deets on how the room turned out and how we got there.

CHOOSING A THEME /COLOR SCHEME

When choosing a theme and color scheme, I suggest having a *light* idea of how you want the room to turn out, and to be flexible as you go.  Choose a few colors as your base and go from there. Or choose a theme and let that be your base.

Most Frequently Suggested Baby Registry Items

I probably asked three different times on instagram stories for people’s favorite registry items! Knowing every baby is different and every mom has different preferences, I just wanted to use it as a base for my list of “must-haves” and ultimate “wish-list” items. People are very passionate about their favorite things and there were a few items that lots and lots of my mom friends suggested. I am sure once baby girl is here we will develop our favorites, but for anyone else planning their registry, here are a few suggestions!

NANIT PRO CAMERA BABY MONITOR

When I again polled my instagram friends about which baby monitor they recommended, the overwhelming response was Nanit! Like, almost every single person who responded.  And not just a brief mention, but an enthusiastic response with lots of DMs and reassurances that Nanit is the best. This smart baby monitor gives parents peace of mind, eases anxiety and stress while keeping you updated on your baby’s sleep and well being.  94% of parents say they sleep better while using Nanit Pro Smart Baby Monitor! That is about all I needed to know to know it was the one for us and so far, setting it up and setting up the app already have me feeling a little more comfortable about our baby girl.

Styling Tips for Family Photos

3 Styling Tips That Will Take Your Family Photos from Bland to Glam

With the limitless options for shopping at any given moment thanks to the internet, it is easy to experience indecisiveness when choosing an outfit for any occasion: especially outfits for family photos…when you are responsible for styling more than ONE outfit. I think experts call this “decision fatigue.” Kevin, Phoenix, and I hadn’t had professional family photos since baby Phoenix was 1 day old in St. Francis Hospital (wanna shift gears from styling family photos to my birth story? Here ya go!) and I wore my fave Sleeper Pajamas with feathers because duh. **

See what I mean? Sleeper pajamas are pricey but they are fierce and serve as both a go-to FULL outfit and fabulous pajamas.

Fast forward 2 years and we finally made it a priority. (Phew! These things weigh on you, am I right? Why do we put things off when the results are so rewarding?)

How To Get Unstuck and Reinspired

our latest offering from The Crystal Press Uni can help you out here <3

the crystal press uni

feeling the dreaded influencer burn out?

feeling the pressure to keep up with the latest instagram trends?

feeling uninspired?

We’ve been there.

We started our blog in 2015, and within months we were working with major brands on huge collaborations and partnerships. For years, we worked during all of our free time on our fashion blog, The Crystal Press, doing what we thought we should be doing. We were making money and running a successful blog.

We didn’t even realize we were burned out until we went to create our class The Ultimate Guide to Getting Paid To Be YourselfWe took a step back and realized that we had strayed from our original blog goals. The class includes exercises for new bloggers like finding your mission statements and your WH.Y When we revisited these exercises ourselves we were a little mind blown. Without knowing it, we had caved to the pressure of comparing ourselves to others and put ourselves into the mold that instagram had created.

the crystal press uni

SO, we basically took our own class as we created it and along with the exercises there and the ones you will find here, we emerged two pretty different creators. Our personal blogs took off as we realized our individual passions, and The Crystal Press has evolved as well.

There is life outside of instagram. There is room on the internet for you to reach your full potential, and get paid to do so! We can help you get back on your inspired path with the help of a few easy exercises.

NOT A BLOGGER? Just suffering from general burn out? This course is 100% for you too.

We’re looking at you >> super moms, burned out artists and creators, friends stuck in miserable jobs ETC ETC ETC!

Course Curriculum Includes : Our Elevated Monthly Calendar for Manifesting, Guided Meditations and Visualizations, Affirmation creation and journaling prompts.
