Style + Comfort with Dansko + Zappos

This post was sponsored by Dansko + Zappos but all opinions are my own.

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of traveling up to New York for the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic and boy, was it a fabulous weekend!  There will be plenty more photos and details about that in the coming weeks, but for now, I want to talk about one of the true heros of the day: the Dansko’s Octavia.

Leading up to our trip, I knew that I wanted the day to go perfectly, and there were so many factors that would go into that.  Arrival time, a good night’s sleep, a fabulous outfit, and a pair of shoes that would last me the entire day.

I have to admit it had been a few years (okay, maybe closer to 15) since I have owned a pair of Danskos, but when they reached out with their exclusive Zappos campaign, I immediately fell in love with this pair.  And then I fell in love with them again once I finally put them on! It was obviously important for me to look my very best for the Polo Classic and these shoes provided the perfect combo of style and comfort that I was looking for.  Whether you are looking to up your summer shoe game with everyday comfortable shoes, or are looking for a great pair of heels to top of your outfit, I highly recommend checking out the collection that Dansko has to offer on Zappos!

I have no doubt that this pair is going to be in heavy rotation when it comes to my shoe choices this summer.

Need more reasons to shop at Zappos?
1. Free + Fast Shipping – seriously, I think my shoes got here in 2 days.
2. 365 Day Return Policy – you know, just in case the shoe doesn’t fit.
3. The selection is AMAZING.  So many great choices, my shopping cart is practically always full.

Mixing Prints at Blenheim Vineyards

John and I have been wine club members at Blenheim for years now. Actually, I may have even been a wine club member before we met, so that means I’m going on 5 years now, and wow, the progress I’ve seen throughout the years is amazing.  From my first late fall trip to the winery, it was love at first site. Upon entering the tasting room with the vast ceilings and wooden beams, I felt right at home! Then I tasted the wine, and the rest is history.

Day 1 in Athens, GA

A couple weeks ago, I took John down to Athens, after years and years of promising I would do so! I went to UGA my first year of college and the town has had a special place in my heart ever since. I couldn’t wait to show John my favorite spots, and explore some new places with him.  (more…)

Where to Stay in Athens, GA: Graduate Hotel

Last week, over John’s spring break, I had the *brilliant* idea to take him down to Athens, to show him around downtown and UGA. I only went to Georgia for my first year of college, but my besties there can attest to the fact that I visited atleast 3 times a year during our college years. The drive from Charlottesville was always a doozie, but totally worth it.  I’ve been telling John this for years, tried to make plans with our pals to meet up in Athens for a game, but alas, it just never happened.  So when we had the chance to choose a destination this April, I asked my friends if the Graduate if we could check out their property there.  (more…)

The Perfect Striped Midi Dress for Spring

*I told you guys I would be wearing this jacket non-stop*

Most of you guys know that my husband John is a high school English teacher, so each year I look forward to Spring Break! Last year, we took a road trip through the south and hit Gatlinburg, Nashville, Memphis and Oxford and it was so much fun.  And so much driving.  This year we decided to go visit some friends in Atlanta and then I would take John to Athens, home of UGA, where I spent my first year of college.  MUCH more to come about Athens, but here’s one of my looks from our trip.

Where to Shop in Richmond with The Crystal Press

We are so excited to finally share this video project The Crystal Press worked on with a crew from Google in Richmond, Va. The video is called “Shop Like a Local” and is featuring Need Supply Co, Little Nomad, and Ledbury.

We can’t believe that the day has finally come where we get to share with our readers one of our favorite projects that The Crystal Press has worked on to date and something that we are new at: VIDEO. The two of us almost didn’t believe our eyes when we received the email about this project with google – that’s how pumped we were at the prospect of working with them AND taking them around one of the best cities (and our hometown): Richmond, VA.

Is anyone else as afraid of public speaking as we are? Talk about two nervous ladies! (I mean, they are google…) But, luckily we had an amazing video crew who made us feel at ease and on top of that, we got to spend the day hanging with some of our favorite Richmond people throughout the day who were naturals on camera. (I’m looking at you Paul, Christina, and Anthony!). This was truly a memorable experience and we are so thankful to Google for including us, to Need Supply Co, Ledbury, and Little Nomad (see Cath rocking the RVA All Day shirt from the video here,) for putting Richmond on the map, and of course- to the city of Richmond. We think 2018 is our year, 804.

Where to Stay in Charlottesville: Graduate Hotel

HAPPY 2018 GUYS!
We are so very excited to see what this year holds for us with TCP and we are so glad to have you on this journey with us.

Just before Christmas, John and I traveled up to Charlotttesville for one of our favorite events of the year – the Sons of Bill + Friends Christmas Party at the Jefferson Theater.  It is always the perfect way to kick off the holiday weekend and truly get us into the spirit.  This was John + my 3rd Christmas show together, and as many of you know we hold SOB close to our hearts. Front man, James, was the officiant at our wedding, so it is always great to be able to catch him when he’s not writing, recording or teaching in Nashville. ‘Twas a great show as always, and great to sing a long to all of our favorites!

This year, the trip was made even better by our stay at the Graduate Charlottesville! We stayed at the Graduate in Oxford, MS this past spring, and one just opened up in Richmond as well, so we were excited to check it out.  (more…)
