A Homestead Christmas

If you’ve been following along with us for a while, you know that The Homestead is my most favorite place.  (If you are a new TCP follower, I got married there a year and a half ago and have been vacationing there for most of my life).  Last year when John and I went in December we recognized how absolutely magical it can be at Christmastime and lucky for us we were able to convince my parents to spend the holiday itself there this year.

Start with Why

What do you do in preparation for New Years?

Aside from the basics of buying a new dress, I spend the month of December prepping for the New Year by crossing off last minute things on my bucket list for 2016 and dreaming up 2017. You could say that the time between Christmas and New Years Eve is crunch time for creating my vision for 2017 and that is exactly what I have been working on this week. When I say “working,” I mean watching Taylor Swift music videos (I prefer the 1989 World Tour on Apple Music), drinking wine, and reading books about movers and shakers of the world to remind me of what’s possible.

Winter Box of Style

I don’t have to tell you guys that holiday time can be a crazy time. Between shopping, working and this year planning Catherine’s upcoming wedding, it’s rare that we have the chance to spend the afternoon shooting photos.  Oh, and the fact that it gets dark before 5pm doesn’t help either.  So when we got dressed up for a holiday outing and it was 25 degrees out but we had a mere 15 minutes to spare, we had to take advantage of the opportunity.  (more…)

Red, Red Wine

Have you thought about your holiday outfits yet?

I cannot believe how quickly they snuck up ! This cozy coat is what I will be wearing while I am listening to Justin Bieber’s Christmas album (my favorite song is Christmas Eve), and drinking a festive holiday cocktail with everyone in town to celebrate the special season! Whether you are a Biebs fan or not, you have to admit that his holiday tunes are fire.

Day 12: Need Supply Co

We are oh so lucky to have internationally known retailer Need Supply Co in our hometown! Recently, we attended the store’s reopening after their remodel and we were so amazed by what they had done! Not only is the shop perfectly curated, but the shop itself is like a piece of art.  If you’re in Richmond, make sure you stop by and see for yourself. For now, shop some of our favorites from their site and enter the giveaway below.  From gifts for him and her, to must-have tees for yourself, you are sure to always find something to lust after on needsupply.com(more…)

Day 11: Let’s Talk Towels

Today’s the day that I give you all a shameless plug for another little project I work on! For the past year or so my mom has been importing Turkish Towels and to say that the business has taken off would be the understatement of a lifetime. In the past year, she has expanded the inventory to include Robes, Blankets and Hand Towels and now has our bests friends (another mother/daughter duo) selling them as well.  (more…)

Day 10: VICHY

vichy-1 We were first introduced to Vichy courtesy of Babbleboxx, during NYFW! Between that *clean* New York air and the long days during Fashion Week, our skin was CRAVING these three masks. The deep skin detox from the Purifying Clay Mask was perfect for the beginning of the week, getting our skin prepared to endure the long days in the city. The Quenching Mineral Mask helped to keep our skin hydrated at night after a long day and the Double Glow Peal Mask helped to brighten our not-so-fresh skin at the end of the long week!  (more…)

Day 9: Daniel Wellington

dw-2

Yet another product we love: Daniel Wellington and you should too! Their classic watches are perfect for everyone and we love the variety of bands that they offer.  This year you should probably get them for everyone on your list.  This holiday season, use our code THECRYSTALPRESS15 for 15% off your purchase!  (more…)

Day 8: Drift/Riot

Richmond is becoming more and more amazing everyday, we swear it.  Home to so many brilliant artists and musicians, new places are popping up more quickly than we can keep up.  Our favorite local jewelry designer, Kristy of drift/riot, just opened up a shop with her husband in Church Hill called Dear Neighbor and we are in love.  The shop is perfectly curated and full of personality.  You can find handmade goods from around Richmond and beyond, and of course plenty of drift/riot jewelry.  (more…)

Day 7: TIJN Eyewear

If you follow along with us regularly, you know we LOVE working with TIJN Eyewear and have featured them consistently on our blog for the past few months. We are huge suckers for a mirrored lens, so we especially like the variety of mirrored options, as well as a variety of frames and colors.  (more…)
