Four Seasons Austin

four seasons austin

John and I are heading back to Austin in 10 days and staying at Four Seasons again. The upcoming trip prompted me to peek at my camera roll to revisit our trip last year! I get to tag along with John on SXSW Edu conference for the second year in a row and hands down the best part is getting to stay at Four Seasons.

Last year, our stay at FS Austin was John’s first Four Seasons experience and he finally understood why we love the hotels so much. From the second you walk in, you feel like family, and know that you are getting the best of the best service. John’s favorite part was returning from the conference a few times a day and having the door opened for him, with the door men saying “welcome back!”

One of my favorite things about traveling with John to conferences is getting to set up shop in the hotel in the mornings to get work done! {After sleeping in a little and having room service of course.} I have a serious love affair with hotel lobbies and the Four Seasons Austin one is SO cozy. I look forward to ordering a pot of tea and cozying up with my laptop, looking out over the lake! Last year, it was uncharacteristically cold for Austin (like 30!) and we didn’t get to take advantage of all the outdoor spaces, but hope to get to do that this time around. I also didn’t get to check out the spa on our last visit, but we shall seeeee if I can fit that in this time!

The location of FS Austin is PRIMO. It is located downtown, just a few blocks from Congress, where you can hop across the lake and you’re right on South Congress in the thick of the action! Similarly, it is a few blocks away from “Dirty Six” and around the corner from Rainey Street. Last year, each day, I would hop on a scooter and tootle down and have lunch at Joann’s Fine Foods and I can’t wait to sit at the counter and order my Bodega Sando again.

ANYWHO – if you’ve got plans to travel to Austin, I highly recommend looking into staying at Four Seasons. If you can’t stay there – you at least have to grab a drink at the gorgeous bar, sit outside on one of their patios or have a bite to eat at one of their restaurants, as they all have a great view of the lake and the rest of downtown!

How fun! What a nice hotel. I loved watching the running of the bulls when they moved them down the street.
