Well folks, here we are in 2017 and I am going to write a little bit about my goals, as cliche as it it may be. 2016 was an amazing year- John and I bought a house, my sister and Catherine both got engaged, I started helping my mom out with her Turkish Towel biz, and of course the blog has continued to flourish (thank you all for your help with that!) That being said, it was a veryyyyy busy year and things were so overwhelming at times that it was tempting to just shut down completely. My goal for 2017 is to avoid said meltdown moments.

Day 8: Drift/Riot
Richmond is becoming more and more amazing everyday, we swear it. Home to so many brilliant artists and musicians, new places are popping up more quickly than we can keep up. Our favorite local jewelry designer, Kristy of drift/riot, just opened up a shop with her husband in Church Hill called Dear Neighbor and we are in love. The shop is perfectly curated and full of personality. You can find handmade goods from around Richmond and beyond, and of course plenty of drift/riot jewelry. (more…)
Day 3: Timeshel
I have been a timeshel subscriber since the company’s inception, and actually a Kickstarter donor to boot! Created by an old friend of mine (and his friend), I have loved the idea from the start because I have a serious thing for printed photos. (Just ask anyone who saw my high school room, my dorm room, my various apartments and now my home). Timeshel’s easy to use app allows you to simply choose photos from your camera roll to be printed and sent to you each month. You can choose 10 or 30 photos each month, and change your subscription at any time. (more…)
Happily Grey in Baukjen
Reb and I love shooting at this spot in Richmond.
We have been coming back to this abandoned building in Scotts Addition with cameras in tow, in our TCP best (#ootd) for over a year now. However, when the two of us pulled up here to do our usual TCP thing recently, we were shocked to see what used to be a very white building painted grey. I have to admit we were both intially disappointed in not only this change, but the thought of the change that is impending our reliable shooting location.
A Velvet Crush
Rebecca and I have both been on board with the crushed velvet trend. She recently scored some blue velvet booties and I recently picked up these grey ones. I love the way these boots compliment the TIJN mirrored sunnies in this ensemble. Not to mention, these Simmi booties give this ASOS black dress just the uniqueness that I was looking for. What velvet pieces are you crushing on this season?
Girls Who Lunch
So, I guess I should announce that I am getting married in 7 months, May 20th. (WTF!, so much to do, so little time!)
After visiting a couple of venues and making some wedding related decisions, I popped over to Lunch for some post-decision-making grub. Whether you are visiting the river city or live in Richmond, I would highly recommend sitting on their patio as the months grow colder. It is perfectly instagramable and dressed up with open fires and string lights. (more…)
Heels Up, Listen Up
I have acknowledged on several occasions during the life of TCP that I am a self-help junkie. While some may dismiss self help literature as overindulgent and selfish, cathclaire (that’s me) thinks the complete opposite. Is learning how to show up as the best version of yourself for everyone in your life really a selfish thing? If you become better, can’t you help everyone around you in an improved, better way?
ShopStyle Collective x CFDA
When we received the email about collaborating with ShopStyle x CFDA designers for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, it was a no brainer. Rebecca and I jumped on board so fast and are so excited to be donating a portion of our profits this week to something that is so dear to us. This cause is so important to Rebecca and I so throughout this post you will hear us both talking in the first person explaining why. (more…)
Tibi Bell Sleeve Dress
It’s no secret that my motivation to become a blogger is rooted in my discovery of Tibi and designer, Amy Smilovic, 6 years ago. I have loved watching the evolution of the brand and I know that each and every season, there is going to be something new and interesting. I have pieces in my closet (a pair of Mary Janes, a Jumpsuit) that are among some of my first Tibi pieces and I don’t think I will ever have the heart to throw them out, even when they are worn completely through. They help to serve as a constant reminder of where this whole adventure began and I’ve grown so accustomed to seeing them on a daily basis.
Ok, get to the point Rebecca… (more…)
Chanel Boy Bag
Every girl has a dream bag. You know, that bag that you have been pining for since it was first released? You know, the one that you beg your husband to get you for years, knowing it probably will never happen? For me, that bag is this black Chanel Boy Bag. However, I didn’t have to break the bank entirely in order to carry this beauty with me during NYFW last week thanks to Bag, Borrow or Steal! Not only is this bag the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, but it was also the PERFECT size to carry during those long days in New York, going from show to show. It perfectly held my lipstick, rosewater spray and cell phone which are, according to moi, the fashion week essentials.
