Isolation Creation with Rebecca Piersol

rebecca piersol isolation creation

At the beginning of quarantine, Jamie Beck of Ann Street Studio started a series called Isolation Creation. Each day, for 60 days she took one photo, sharing on her instagram feed and has since decided to start selling prints of her creations.  I discovered this brilliance a few weeks into the series and fell in love with her images.  I have always been a huge fan of her photography and how she captures the true essence through her photos, but this series especially spoke to me. My favorite being the final piece, on Day 60. It reminds me of a Monet which brings me such joy.

Now, I am nowhere close to as talented as she, but it certainly inspired to do my fair share of isolation creating!

SPRING IS HERE!!!!!

Here in the great state of VA, it feels like Spring gets skipped over year after year. One day it is 40 degrees and the snow is melting, and the next week its in the 80s. Luckily, this year, we have actually been experiencing spring in all its glory. {Of course, suffering through the pollen too, but that’s another story} We have had our fair share of spring showers, but we also have had beautiful days in the 60s and 70s.

Everyday Style with Reb

This post first appeared on rebeccapiersol.me a month ago, but is even more relevant today than it was then!

I love sharing all of my quirky, fun, dressed up, and staged looks for you guys on here and over on my own site.  It gives me a space to be creative with my outfits and show y’all all sorts of fun possibilities.  However, I noticed that I shy away from sharing things that I actually wear on a daily basis.  Sure I’ve shared plenty of my favorite sweaters, jeans and other classic staples with you but this is different! If you follow me on IG or tiktok, you’ve probably seen a slew of my everyday looks and I think that this one is the most everyday of them all.

Quarantine Approved: Comfy Dresses

quarantine dresses the crystal press

Oh, quarantine. You are truly a roller coaster. Some days we wake up ready to create, ready to be productive and get up, shower and put on makeup. Other days, we spend in our pajamas. BOTH ARE OKAY!!! Leisure sets are blowing up all of our feeds and tie-dye sets are everywhere. {I’m currently working on making my own and it’s not going exactly as planned lol} We love a good set, don’t get us wrong, but we also love a good dress alternative, especially now that the temps are getting warmer.

~ white button down & blazer ~

Thanks to J.ING for gifting these pieces & to all the brands who keep us stylin’ so we can share them with you!

I absolutely love discovering new brands, so when J.ING emailed us about trying out their pieces, I was really excited. The anticipation when clicking a link to a new brand is “well this stuff could be really cool, or we’ll probably pass.” With J.ING it was an immediate oooooh & ahhhh situation. I was immediately drawn to their pieces and noticed how each piece puts a chic twist on a classic. The brand describes themselves as “a womenswear collection for the bold and romantic” and I think that pretty much hits the nail on the head.

Four Seasons Austin

four seasons austin

John and I are heading back to Austin in 10 days and staying at Four Seasons again. The upcoming trip prompted me to peek at my camera roll to revisit our trip last year! I get to tag along with John on SXSW Edu conference for the second year in a row and hands down the best part is getting to stay at Four Seasons.

Last year, our stay at FS Austin was John’s first Four Seasons experience and he finally understood why we love the hotels so much. From the second you walk in, you feel like family, and know that you are getting the best of the best service. John’s favorite part was returning from the conference a few times a day and having the door opened for him, with the door men saying “welcome back!”

Reb’s Home Office Update

reb home office the crystal press

My loft / home office redesign is finally complete and it feels SO GOOD. I fell in love with this space when we first saw the house four years ago and knew that eventually I would make this area my happy place. It has been an ongoing project for a year or so, but I can finally say that except for a rogue wing chair that is temporarily living in the corner, it is finished! It all started with me using chalk paint to transform a hand-me-down desk and ordering a few pieces of art from Minted.

Where To Stay in Steamboat: The Steamboat Grand

make sure you make it through the whole blog post – there’s an epic Valentine’s giveaway at the end!

We have been traveling to Steamboat for as long as I can remember and each trip seems better than the last! Over the years, we have stayed at different places on and around the mountain and a place that we keep coming back to is The Steamboat Grand. It is the perfect place to stay if you’re traveling with a smaller group, as they have great options for units that have two bedrooms with a shared living room and kitchen area!

We always go to the grocery store on the first day and get breakfast fixins, beer, wine & snacks so that we can spend as much time together in the Grand as possible. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere you want to go and when you take your grocery run, they have bins on the van for you to put your groceries that they will then deliver to your room. Talk about service!
